The enforcement of the Declaration of an Emergency Situation in all areas of the Kingdom will be extended for another two months, from 1 August to 30 September 2021.
The announcement on the extension period, which is the 13th time, was published in the Royal Gazette on 23 July 2021, after it was approved by the Cabinet on 20 July.
It stated that the Government has implemented measures against COVID-19 seriously and continuously, with good cooperation from all sectors.
It has conducted active finding, screened infected persons, provided medical services for CIVID-19 patients, and accelerated the securing of COVID-19 vaccines and the production of vaccines in the country. Vaccination against COVID-19 has been included in the national agenda.
Moreover, the Government has imposed travel restrictions in order to contain the spread of the virus. The recent variant infections have spread faster than before. In particular, the rapid spread of the Delta variant has led to an increase in the number of infected persons in Bangkok and surrounding provinces, as well as in many other provinces.
The Government deems it necessary to continue the Declaration of an Emergency Situation in all areas of the Kingdom to contain local transmission for the safety of the people and the public health of the country.
