Himalayan Vultures Set for Release into Wild in April

Bangkok: This year marks a significant effort in the conservation of Himalayan brown vultures, as a group of up to 10 birds that fled to Thailand to escape cold conditions and suffered injuries are set to be released back into the wild by early April. The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kasetsart University, is spearheading the rehabilitation of these vultures to ensure their successful reintroduction to their natural habitat.

According to Thai News Agency, the Office of Environmental Policy and Planning is emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in conserving biodiversity. This initiative is crucial for the survival of species that are on the brink of extinction. The office is urging public participation in conservation efforts, highlighting the role of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance and supporting threatened species like the Himalayan brown vultures.
