Attorney Kaew Announces Legal Action in Defamation Cases Involving Celebrity P. and Fortune Teller

Bangkok: Attorney Kaew updates on the condition of prominent host Noom Kanchai, noting significant improvement in his health following recent surgery. Kanchai, who had been treated for acute cholangitis resulting from gallstones blocking the bile duct, is expected to resume his hosting duties soon.

According to Thai News Agency, Attorney Kaew, whose real name is Dr. Monchai Jongkrairatanakul, revealed details about Kanchai’s recovery and his involvement in a defamation lawsuit against a celebrity identified by the initial P. This legal action follows the online posting of a photo of Kanchai accompanied by a derogatory message, which Kaew claims damaged his reputation.

Kaew also addressed the ongoing case involving actress Noon Woranuch and her husband, Tod Piti, who were falsely accused by a well-known fortune teller. The couple has filed defamation suits with the Taling Chan Criminal Court and the Thonburi Provincial Court, seeking 20 million baht in damages. The fortune teller has reached out for potential informal settlement negotiations, but the matter will proceed to court in early December.

Kaew emphasized that these legal actions are not retaliatory but are intended to ensure that justice is served through the judicial process. She reiterated her commitment to protecting her clients’ rights and allowing the courts to determine the outcomes based on facts and justice.
