‘Bangchak’ sets a new record in the first half of the year, with total revenue of 290 billion baht.

Bangchak Group reported its operating results for the first half of 2024 with sales and service revenue of 293,438 million baht and EBITDA of 26,072 million baht, resulting in the company having a net profit attributable to the parent company of 4,261 million baht, or earnings per share of 2.91 baht. The refinery and oil trading business group was mainly driven by the performance of BSRC. The marketing business group had a total oil sales volume through all channels, setting a new record at 6,919 million liters. Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Chief Executive Officer of Bangchak Group and President of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, revealed the operating results in the first half of 2024 that despite facing Crack Spread of all products that adjusted downward in line with the global market and the Phra Khanong Refinery shutting down the distillation unit for routine maintenance, Bangchak was able to significantly improve its operating results, with revenue from sales and services of 293,438 million b aht, an increase of 98 percent compared to the same period of 2023, representing a total EBITDA of 26,072 million baht, an increase of 48 percent from the same period of 2023, and a profit for the period attributable to the parent company of 4,261 million baht, an increase of 33 percent from the same period of 2023, representing earnings per share of 2.91 baht. In addition, from driving the business forward through investment in high-potential projects and creating synergies within the Bangchak Group, it resulted in recognition of synergies from continuous operating results. With a cumulative total of over 3 billion baht in the first half of 2024, the EBITDA Synergy target has been achieved of not less than 2.5 billion baht in 2024. The Company is committed to continuous development to achieve the EBITDA Synergy target of 3 billion baht per year in the following years. The Bio-Products Business Group by BBGI Public Company Limited had an EBITDA of 493 million baht, an increase of more than 100 percent from t he same period in 2023, driven by increased sales in both ethanol and biodiesel, in line with the expansion of the Marketing Business Group. The Natural Resources Business Group had a total EBITDA of 13,074 million baht, an increase of 43 percent from the same period in 2023, due to increased production and sales volumes from the recognition of full-year operating results from the Statfjord petroleum field, which was transferred on December 29, 2023, the Brage field, which can increase production capacity, and the Hasselmus field, which began COD in October 2023.
