The Prime Minister is concerned about rescue volunteers and volunteers who are working in flooded areas, emphasizing safety and advising the public to strictly follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health. Today (September 15, 2024), Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, is concerned about rescue volunteers, volunteers, and volunteers who have joined in helping people and animals, including various missions in many flooded areas. She asks that they consider safety, work with caution, and get enough rest. She would like to thank the rescue volunteer team and all officers for their sacrifices for others. This is an admirable act and shows the kindness of Thai people that the world is impressed by. The government has prepared a disaster response plan for risk areas and a plan to restore flooded areas that are starting to improve. It is expected that this will be discussed at the cabinet meeting this Tuesday. The Prime Minister is also concerned about the health of the people, asking them to take care of themselves and their families strictly according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health. Diseases that need to be monitored are those that come with flooding, such as Leptospirosis, Athlete's Foot, Pink Eye, and especially diarrhea. The Ministry of Public Health has recommended ways to prevent the disease, which are to wash hands with clean water and soap or alcohol every time after touching dirty water, before eating and after using the bathroom, and to take care of and warn young children not to play in stagnant water. In addition, they must eat clean, hot, freshly cooked food. In cases where people have to wade through water to leave their homes, they must wear waterproof boots every time. For the water situation in Chiang Rai Province, the Prime Minister received a report on the progress of the water supply system recovery at the water production station affected by the flood in Chiang Rai. Currently, water can be supplied to the people in Chiang Rai Province as usual. Th is allows the people to use the water to clean their houses and wash away the sand and dirt first, as the water is still slightly turbid. The Provincial Waterworks Authority will urgently improve the water quality to meet the standard by tomorrow (September 16, 2024). The Mae Sai Waterworks Branch, Royal Thai Army Headquarters, together with the Department of National Parks, sent officials to help solve the problem of mud and sand deposits on the waterworks system, so that it can resume water production within 5-7 days.
