11-hour operation to search for bodies in wreckage of small plane crash

The Chachoengsao rescue team mobilized to search for the bodies of the victims of the small plane crash. They dug a hole almost 10 meters deep and found many pieces of mangled flesh, including parts of the plane, before calling off the search at 2:00 a.m. From the small plane incident in Khao Din Subdistrict, Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province yesterday afternoon (August 22), the Chachoengsao Rescue Unit, Por Tek Tung Foundation, used 2 backhoes to dig a hole about 8 meters wide and 10 meters deep, along with a water pump, to search for the bodies of the deceased throughout the night. After building a water embankment during high tide, water continued to seep into the hole that was dug. However, as they dug deeper, they began to find human body parts, one by one, both large and small, such as hands, wrists, ankles, pieces of flesh, arms, legs, wrists, fingers, or parts of the torso that were severed from the force of the previous explosion. Therefore, they could not determine the gender or person. Therefore, they collected the pieces in the mud and brought them up to the top and handed them to the relevant officials for safekeeping to separate the identities for further verification. In addition, the 9 Morning News team obtained aerial images of the work of the Chachoengsao rescue team and related agencies, showing the difficulties of the work site, which showed that the area where the plane crashed was full of mud. The obstacle in the past was the high tide, which caused officials to quickly pump out the water that flooded the surrounding area and switched to using a backhoe with a long suspension to work instead, because the old one could not get close to the debris of the plane for fear that the soil would slide down. Meanwhile, last night, Mr. Chonlatee Yangtrong, the governor of Chachoengsao Province, came out to hold a press conference and confirmed that all 9 people on the plane had died. There were 5 Chinese tourists, 4 Thais, including the pilot and co-pilot. They were 1. Miss Chang Jing Jin g, 12 years old, 2. Ms. Chang Jing, 43 years old, 3. Ms. Tang Yu, 42 years old, 4. Mr. Yin Jin Fang, 45 years old, 5. Miss Yin Hang, 13 years old, 6. Ms. Naphak, 34 years old, 7. Ms. Siriyupa, 25 years old, and 8. the co-pilot, Mr. Phonsak, 30 years old, and 9. Lt. Anuwat, 61 years old, who was the pilot. The search lasted 11 hours before ending at 2:00 a.m. The officials collected the excavated pieces of the plane at Khao Din Subdistrict Administrative Organization to wait for specialized officials to examine all the wreckage. Today, there will be another search for additional bodies and remaining pieces of the plane because the way the plane crashed had a spurt in the ground before exploding immediately. The small plane is known to belong to Thai Flying Service Company Limited, Flight number TFT209, Cessna caravan C208, registration number HSSKR, taking off from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2:46 p.m., destined for Trat Airport (Koh Mai Si), until it lost contact at 2:57 p.m., in a position 18.7 nautical miles southeast. There is also a document requesting to fly between 2-24 August 2024, with the first route to the southern part of Thailand stating that there were a total of 9 people on board.
