Bangkok: The Ministry of Finance has announced that 2.2 million individuals have completed the identity verification process for the state welfare card, while 4.1 million people have filed appeals for reconsideration regarding their eligibility status.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry provided an update on the State Welfare Registration Project for the year 2026, as of August 4, 2026. Eligible individuals, whose status requires identity verification (e-KYC), have the option to complete this process via the Paotang app or at designated registration centers across five banks-Krung Thai Bank, Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, Government Housing Bank, and Islamic Bank-until January 12, 2027. However, verification at these banks is available only until October 14, 2026. A total of 2,205,575 people have successfully verified their identity thus far.
For those who received a "fail" result during the eligibility check and wish to appeal, the deadline to file is August 31, 2026. Appeals can be submitted through four channels: the official project website, the Paotang app, the government app, and registration centers at the aforementioned banks. So far, 4,116,346 individuals have submitted their appeals for eligibility reconsideration.
Individuals needing to correct their information are advised to contact the eligibility verification unit or seek assistance at the One Stop Service (OSS) center within their local administrative organization or government agency, under the Ministry of Interior. This step should be completed by September 20, 2026, to ensure that all necessary information is obtained and verified, allowing applicants to proceed through the designated channels effectively.
