Khura buri: A 3-year-old girl was rescued after being trapped inside a washing machine's spin dryer for over two hours. The child became unconscious during the ordeal, prompting a swift response from local rescuers.
According to Thai News Agency, officials from the Ranong Relief Foundation received a call for assistance regarding the young girl trapped in the machine. Arriving on the scene, they found her inside the spin dryer drum, exhausted and unconscious. Immediate efforts were made to provide emergency assistance.
The child's grandmother explained that her granddaughter had gone to play inside the spin dryer, a common activity for children, and was unable to climb out. Noticing her granddaughter's unusual behavior, the grandmother quickly contacted rescue workers.
As the child's condition worsened, the rescue team decided to transport the entire spin dryer assembly, with the child still inside, to Kuraburi Chaiyapat Hospital for urgent medical care. Upon arrival, medical staff administered oxygen and monitored the girl's condition while rescuers used hydraulic cutters to safely dismantle the spin dryer without causing further harm.
The operation concluded successfully, with the child being safely extracted and doctors confirming she is now safe and under close observation. This incident highlights the importance of parental supervision, especially around household appliances like washing machines, which can pose significant risks to children.
