Bangkok: The Center for Repatriation of Thai Citizens in the Middle East has announced the successful evacuation of 351 Thai citizens back to Thailand. According to Thai News Agency, the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has confirmed these developments and has advised against traveling to high-risk areas, urging all involved parties to seek peaceful resolutions. The Middle East Regional Command and Monitoring Center (MERCMC), represented by Mr. Panidol Patchimsawat, Acting Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed updates on the escalating conflicts in the Middle East. Mr. Panidol reported continued missile and drone attacks, including recent strikes on oil refineries in Bahrain and fatal attacks in Lebanon. Despite regional calls for diplomatic solutions, the main conflicting nations-the United States, Israel, and Iran-have shown no inclination to negotiate. Fortunately, no Thai citizens have been reported inj ured or killed, and the final group from the first evacuation round arrived safely in Thailand this morning. Additionally, 23 Iranians have been successfully repatriated to Suvarnabhumi Airport, greeted by Mr. Vichavat Isarabhakdi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs. Meanwhile, 69 more Thai citizens are currently en route from Iran to Van, Turkey, with their arrival in Thailand scheduled for tomorrow. In Iraq, 14 Thai nationals are being evacuated with assistance from the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman, heading to a temporary operations center in Van, Turkey. Furthermore, Qatar Airways plans a special flight to Bangkok on March 11th, while the Royal Thai Embassy and Consulates General continue efforts to assist Thai nationals, ensuring their safe return through coordination with airlines and relevant agencies. Mr. Panidol urged Thai citizens remaining in the Middle East to avoid high-risk areas and consider leaving promptly. He also stressed the importance of registering their whereabouts with local embass ies or consulates to facilitate timely assistance. The Thai government reiterated its commitment to the safety of its citizens and the pursuit of peace, calling for diplomatic dialogue to resolve the conflict and avert further escalation.
