5D Mixed Reality Experience and Hidden Paradise Open at Rama IX Museum

Pathum thani: Modern Thai children have an exciting opportunity to visit the "5D Mixed Reality Experience" exhibition and participate in "Hidden Paradise" activities at the Rama IX Museum, National Science Museum Organization. This immersive exhibition offers a complete sensory experience, engaging visitors through sight, taste, smell, sound, and touch, and marks a significant step towards digital learning in museums.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Sriyada Palimapan, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), officially inaugurated the '5D Mixed Reality Experience Exhibition' and the 'Hidden Paradise' event. The launch witnessed the presence of Mr. Suwarong Wongshiri, Acting Director of the National Science Museum (NSM), along with NSM executives, representatives from the government and private sectors, and numerous students. The event, held at the Rama IX Museum in Khlong Ha Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, was vibrant and engaging.

Dr. Sriyada emphasized that science, technology, and innovation are key drivers for the country's future development. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) aims to leverage innovation to enhance life quality, learning, and workforce readiness for modern world challenges. The introduction of 5D and Mixed Reality technologies in museums presents a novel learning innovation that not only makes learning exciting and accessible but also signifies a shift towards digital learning. This initiative provides equal opportunities for youth and the public to access knowledge and develop essential future skills. Additionally, the 'Hidden Paradise' activity highlights the role of science and technology in promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and biodiversity, crucial for a balanced and sustainable Thai society.

The exhibition and activities offer a comprehensive entertainment experience for all five senses, positioning the National Science Museum (NSM) as a modern and enjoyable educational destination comparable to any other globally. Students, university attendees, and the general public are encouraged to visit for both fun and educational purposes.

Dr. Sriyada explored the 5D cinema in the Desert Zone, where virtual reality technology combined with special effects and 3D glasses brought the movie "The Adventures of Fox" to life, simulating an adventure across the world's seven biomes. She also visited the "Mixed Reality Journey" zone, where RokidMax Pro glasses facilitated a breathtaking virtual exploration of 30 key points within the Rama IX Museum.

Furthermore, the "Hidden Paradise: Nature's Creation, a Heaven on Earth" activity narrates the story of micro-ecosystems and biodiversity through various creative learning zones. These include Hidden Home, Hidden Life, Hidden Sound, Hidden Clues, and Hidden Diary, each offering unique insights into the natural world. The event also showcases the "Rama IX Springtail" (Alloscopus ramani sp. nov.), a newly discovered insect species by researchers from NSM, Thaksin University, and Prince of Songkla University.

The 5D Mixed Reality Experience exhibition and Hidden Paradise activity are now open to the public at the Rama IX Museum, located in Khlong Ha Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. Visitors can explore the exhibitions from Tuesday to Friday between 9:30 AM and 3:00 PM, and on weekends and public holidays from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the museum closed on Mondays.
