Bangkok: An 80-year-old grandmother, despite her mobility challenges, was among those paying respects before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha. She attended the event at the Grand Palace, assisted by volunteer teams throughout her journey.
According to Thai News Agency, the elderly woman, identified as Grandma Phoeun Siriyotha from Nong Khaem, made an early morning bus journey to Sanam Luang. Upon arrival, volunteers provided her with a wheelchair to facilitate her participation in the proceedings. She was able to pay her respects at the Grand Palace and sign the book of condolences at Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion.
Grandma Phoeun expressed her emotional connection to the event, stating that despite her physical limitations, she felt compelled to attend. She recalled the kindness of the King and her long-standing admiration for his efforts, which brought her to tears. Her commitment to being part of this tribute was shared by many others who gathered at the venue.
