Approve payment of special compensation Forest protection officers continue to patrol.

Bangkok: The National Parks Department reveals good news. The Comptroller General's Department has approved the disbursement of special compensation from the National Park funds to forest rangers who continue their patrol work. From an hourly rate of 50 baht, not more than 4 hours per day, to a flat rate paid for continuous patrolling time of 14, 17, or 20 nights in order to boost morale and improve the quality of life of forest guardians and their families. Mr. Chaiwat Limlikhitaksorn Director of the National Park Office said: The Comptroller General's Department has approved the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation to disburse special compensation from national park funds. (Money from national park revenue) given to forest rangers who continue their patrol work. According to the National Park Office, the National Park Service has requested approval to pay special compensation to forest rangers from the National Park funds in order to change the compensation to forest rangers who pa trol to prevent and suppress illegal activities related to forestry.
