(Olympics) Tom Kim remains 3 off lead after 36 holes in men’s golf

Tom Kim stayed within striking distance after the second round of the men's golf tournament at the Paris Olympics on Friday. Kim, whose Korean given name is Joo-hyung, shot a three-under 68 at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, south of Paris, to reach eight-under for the competition at the halfway mark. He is tied for fifth with C.T. Pan of Chinese Taipei and Thomas Detry of Belgium. They are three shots back of three co-leaders: Xander Schauffele of the United States, Hideki Matsuyama of Japan and Tommy Fleetwood of Britain. Kim had also bee three shots back of the lead after the opening round. Former world No. 1 Jon Rahm, representing Spain, is alone in fourth place at nine-under. Kim, a three-time PGA Tour winner, holed out for an eagle out of a bunker on the par-5 third, and had three straight birdies from the 13th to 15th holes. The other South Korean player, An Byeong-hun, is tied for 30th at two-under after carding a 68 with four birdies and one bogey.
