NBTC mobilizes personnel and equipment to back up communication systems and support rescue teams.

The NBTC Chairman has ordered the NBTC office to urgently mobilize personnel and equipment to back up communication systems and support flood relief teams in Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, and Mae Hong Son provinces, and to work with telecommunications network providers to provide urgent assistance to those affected. Mr. Patchara Naripthaphan, Advisor to the NBTC Chairman and Acting Spokesperson of the NBTC Chairman, revealed that due to the current severe flooding situation in the northern region, Clinical Professor Dr. Saran Boonbaichaipruk, Chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC Chairman), has ordered Mr. Trirat Viriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC Secretary-General), and all NBTC offices in each region to provide support to the NBTC Office Region 3, which oversees the upper northern region, especially Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, and Mae Hong Son provinces, which have been affe cted by Typhoon Yangi, causing a large number of Thai people to suffer. 'The NBTC Chairman has ordered the NBTC Office to prepare personnel and backup communication equipment to be used in disaster relief operations by setting up and preparing a network and radio channels for officers to continuously provide assistance to disaster victims and providing backup equipment to fully support frontline officers.' For Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, where heavy flooding has affected signal towers and backup power, and where access to signal towers or mobile vehicles in problem areas is still not possible, we are waiting for the water situation to improve in order to quickly coordinate with network providers to access the area and quickly repair the wireless communication signal to be restored as soon as possible. Similarly, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province, where roads were cut off by flooding and landslides, the NBTC Region 3 Office has now organized a task force to bring radio telecommunications equipm ent to assist disaster victims to support the work of frontline officers. Mr. Patchara said that the NBTC office has now made a plan with the administration and rescue workers to prepare for the restoration of the communication network and the provision of services to the public, allowing them to use telephones and wireless devices quickly, including helping those affected in the area.
