Bangkok: Abhisit cast his vote and later returned to the party headquarters in the evening to await the results. Smiling, he greeted the media with a friendly wai (Thai gesture of respect) before proceeding with the voting process, entering the polling booth, and casting his ballot. He later told the press that he was happy to have exercised his right to vote, but noted that voter turnout was low in the morning and anticipated an increase in the afternoon. He encouraged the public to come out and vote. Afterward, he said he would go to the Democrat Party headquarters to await the election results this evening.
