Abhisit Vejjajiva Visits Surin to Support Soldiers and Flood Victims

Surin: Abhisit Vejjajiva and his delegation visited soldiers and flood victims in Surin, expressing gratitude for the kindness of the Thai people and for sending encouragement to Hat Yai. Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, along with the party’s executive committee, visited and offered support to the injured civilians and soldiers in Surin Province, who are currently facing unrest and fighting along the border.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Abhisit revealed after visiting several hospitals and disaster relief shelters that throughout his time in the area, he intended to convey the moral support of people from all over the country to the people of Surin. What was found was that the people in the shelters still have many challenges to face for a long time, and more refugees are continuously arriving. However, everyone is receiving assistance and support from government agencies, volunteers, and all officials. Even the injured soldiers are in good spirits.

Mr. Abhisit emphasized the kindness of the Thai people, mentioning that the locals asked him to extend support to those in Hat Yai, who are still recovering from the disaster. He stated that such resilience should encourage all Thais facing crises and reflects the mental strength of the Thai people.

Mr. Abhisit also encouraged other Thais to assist those in need in Surin province by donating daily necessities or providing food through relevant government agencies, to help the people of Surin overcome this crisis successfully.
