Bangkok: The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has revealed the asset and liability declaration of former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, signifying his return to the political arena. Abhisit, who now serves as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Democrat Party's list, reported assets totaling 130,916,823 baht with no liabilities.
According to Thai News Agency, Abhisit and his wife, Mrs. Pimpen Vejjajiva, have seen a significant increase in their wealth since his last asset declaration in 2011. Compared to that period, their assets have increased by over 76 million baht. Abhisit's personal assets include multiple bank accounts, land plots in Bangkok, buildings in Hua Hin and Watthana, vehicles, and various other assets. His annual income stands at approximately 1.4 million baht, with personal expenses totaling 600,000 baht annually.
Mrs. Pimpen Vejjajiva's assets are also substantial, with significant investments in open-ended funds and valuable land plots in Bangkok. Her reported annual income is over 1.1 million baht, with personal expenses of 400,000 baht.
The couple's notable possessions include luxury watches, pearl necklaces, diamond rings, and other valuable jewelry, underscoring their financial standing. Abhisit's political comeback follows his resignation from parliament in 2019, with his recent election on February 8, 2026.
In contrast, Dr. Aoo, or Ms. Kardee Leowpairoj, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, declared total family assets of 233,808,707 baht, including cryptocurrency, gold, and jewelry. Her liabilities amount to over 8 million baht. Kardee's assets include bank deposits, investments, land, a condominium, and various rights and concessions. Her family's notable assets include cryptocurrency, jewelry, gold, and other luxury items.
Kardee, who previously held various executive roles and served as a lecturer, was appointed as a Member of Parliament and was the third candidate for Prime Minister from the Democrat Party in the recent elections.
