Bangkok: Art Phasut, a young actor, encountered a dangerous driving incident on Rama VI Road when another driver abruptly cut him off and braked suddenly.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident, which occurred on November 14th, led to a social media search for the reckless driver.
Art Pasut recounted to the Nine Entertain news team that while he was driving in the right lane and attempting to switch to the left, a pickup truck behind him honked briefly and sped up. To avoid potential danger, he accelerated back to his original lane. However, the truck overtook him and executed two sudden brakes, causing Art to brake sharply, displacing items within his vehicle. Concerned about the potential harm to passengers, especially vulnerable ones like children or the elderly, Art attempted to confront the driver.
The situation escalated when the other driver began recording the encounter on their phone, seemingly to shift blame onto Art. Despite attempts to resolve the matter on the spot, the other driver declined to stop. Art then used the footage from his car’s camera to gather information, including the truck’s license plate and company logo, which he posted online to identify the driver. The ensuing response revealed the truck belonged to a private firefighting company. Upon contacting the company, Art was informed that the driver had been warned about his conduct, and the company apologized for the incident.
Art requested the driver’s contact information to address the situation personally. When contacted, the driver claimed his abrupt braking was due to a fallen phone, a justification Art found unconvincing given the video evidence showing the driver filming. Firm on addressing the dangerous behavior, Art arranged to meet the driver to discuss safe driving practices rationally, without resorting to confrontation. Art emphasized the broader risk such actions pose, wishing to prevent future incidents that might endanger others.
