Afghanistan closes embassy in India

The Afghan Embassy in India has announced the closure of its embassy located in New Delhi. Effective from today

The Embassy posted a press release via X (X) on September 30, 2023 that the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in New Delhi We regret to inform you of our decision to cease operations. Effective from October 1, 2023, the press release stated. Embassies face increasing challenges in continuing their operations. Due to the reduction in the number of staff and resources Including the lack of adequate and timely support for visa renewal for diplomats. The Embassy categorically denies baseless claims of internal division among embassy officials. and the issue of diplomats using the crisis in their country to request asylum in a third country. After this, the Indian government will continue to take care of the embassy.
