Hat yai: Actor Alek Teeradej expressed his sympathy and concern for the flood victims after seeing news reports and social media clips depicting the loss of life and property caused by the severe flooding in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. He said that he has had the opportunity to travel to Hat Yai for work several times in the past, and has always received a warm welcome each time. Although he has been unable to visit the area or help pack items due to work commitments, he expressed his desire to do his part in helping his fellow southerners by donating money and essential supplies to various foundations. He most recently drove to donate blood at the Thai Red Cross Society’s National Blood Centre on Henri Dunant Road after receiving a message from the Thai Red Cross informing him that the blood bank at Hat Yai Hospital was short of blood of all blood types.
According to Thai News Agency, Alek revealed that money can buy various things, but blood cannot be bought if someone is in urgent need. Every drop of blood in the bag donated by everyone can save a patient’s life. Alek urged those who are physically ready to donate blood to continue to help all patients.
