Alexandre Gama Resigns as Head Coach of Port FC

Bangkok: Alexandre Gama has announced his resignation as head coach of Port FC. Brazilian coach Alexandre Gama, 58, took over at the beginning of the season. Towards the end of the season, he experienced health issues requiring a break for treatment. The club then appointed Sarawut Treepun as interim head coach. However, Gama has officially announced his departure from Port FC, stating: "Today I bid farewell to Port FC. During my eight months as head coach, I have been honored to work with a fantastic group of players, dedicated staff, and supportive fans. I thank the club president for his trust in my work. I needed to step aside due to personal reasons to prioritize important matters off the field, but today everything has been resolved, and I feel fully ready to return to work."

According to Thai News Agency, Port FC has secured its place in the 2026/27 ACL Elite season after finishing as runners-up in the Thai League and successfully passing the AFC club licensing requirements. The club has confirmed that Thammasat Rangsit Stadium will be their home ground for the tournament. The group stage draw is scheduled for August 17-18.
