Amata VN Reports 347% Profit Surge in Q2/2026 Due to Subsidiary Sale

Bangkok: Amata VN Public Company Limited (AMATAV) has announced a remarkable increase in its net profit for the second quarter of 2026, reporting a surge of 347%, amounting to 394 million baht. This significant growth was primarily driven by a substantial profit of over 400 million baht from the sale of a subsidiary, reflecting the vibrant investment climate in Vietnam.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Osamu Sudo, Chief Executive Officer of AMATAV, highlighted the robust expansion of the Vietnamese economy during this period, with a GDP growth of 8.4%. This expansion was primarily fueled by a notable 84.5% increase in foreign direct investment (FDI), alongside a 28.8% increase in exports, particularly in technology, electronics, and machinery products. These sectors have benefitted from the rising demand for AI-related equipment, supporting Vietnam's strategic economic goals of achieving an average growth rate of at least 10% per year from 2026 to 2030, with the aspiration of becoming a high-income country by 2045.

The ongoing positive trend in foreign investment, especially the relocation of production bases by international companies, continues to support the development of Amata's industrial parks within Vietnam. Amata Group remains committed to developing industrial parks that cater to high-technology and high-value-added businesses, while also upgrading infrastructure and public utilities to sustain the long-term growth of Vietnam's industrial sector and attract further foreign investment.

For the second quarter of 2026, AMATAV reported a total revenue of 1,165.72 million baht, marking an increase of 4.05% compared to the same period in the previous year. The net profit of 394.22 million baht was bolstered significantly by a 442 million baht gain from the sale of its investment in Amata Service City Long Thanh 2 Company Limited (ASCLT2), finalized on May 20, 2026. Although utility revenue saw a decline, rental income increased by 8.62% to 7.37 million baht, highlighting the company's focus on efficient asset management and generating sustainable long-term growth through recurring revenue streams.

In the first half of 2026, AMATAV recorded a net profit of 392.53 million baht, indicating a substantial increase of 320.49%. Revenue from land sales amounted to 95.10 million baht, while utility revenue decreased due to the depreciation of the Vietnamese Dong against the Thai Baht compared to the previous year.

Looking forward, Amata VN is set to advance the development of its industrial parks and cities in Vietnam towards becoming Carbon Neutral Cities by 2040. This strategic initiative involves expanding energy infrastructure and collaborating with partners to enhance business capabilities and develop an industrial ecosystem that aligns with modern investment needs for sustainable carbon reduction.
