American Man’s Tragic Demise at Luxury Thai Village after Vandalizing Home

Bang phli: A deranged American man vandalized his 22 million baht luxury home with paint before jumping into the village lake and drowning. A search of his house revealed two syringes and an unknown type of white pill.

According to Thai News Agency, the shocking incident occurred at a luxury village in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province. The 31-year-old American man, experiencing an unexplained psychotic episode, fled from police and jumped into the village's lake, which was over 10 meters deep. He became exhausted and drowned in front of staff and officials. Divers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation spent 30 minutes searching before finding his body.

The village security guard recounted that the deceased hailed a taxi to the village entrance behaving unusually and tried to offer the driver 1,000 baht, but the driver refused to accept it. The deceased then began shouting, rolling on the road, and praying to God. When the police arrived, the deceased fled into the lake, leading to the tragic incident.

The 22-year-old girlfriend revealed that they had been dating for three years and had only moved in together three months ago. She said there had been no unusual behavior, but before the incident, in the middle of the night, the deceased refused to sleep and vandalized the house with paint, leaving it in a mess. She was unaware of any drug use.

When the landlord arrived to inspect the property, they were shocked to find the luxurious lakeside house, valued at 22 million baht, completely vandalized after only three months of rental at 35,000 baht per month. The floors, walls both upstairs and downstairs, as well as the luxury sofas and other furniture, were all damaged. The landlord had never anticipated such a scene, especially since they had carefully screened the tenant.

During a search of the deceased's home and car, Bang Phli police found two syringes on the car seat and unidentified white pills in a fanny pack. Preliminary forensic examination revealed abrasions on the body from rolling on the ground. Rescue workers have sent the body for a more thorough autopsy to determine the cause of death and to test for drug use. The US Embassy has also been contacted to report the incident.
