Announcement of 2026 State Welfare Card Program Results Scheduled for Tomorrow

Bangkok: The Treasury will announce the results of the state welfare card program tomorrow. The Ministry of Finance disclosed that 9.51 million out of 18.82 million registrants have met the criteria for the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project. Starting at 6:00 AM tomorrow, citizens can verify their eligibility through the website, application, and registration centers. Existing cardholders who qualify will commence using their benefits on August 1, 2026, while newly qualified registrants need to complete identity verification to start accessing benefits from October 1, 2026.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Vinit Visetsuwannapoom, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, shared insights following the 9th meeting of the Committee on Public-Private Partnership for the Grassroots Economy and Society in 2026. The meeting evaluated the registration and eligibility verification outcomes for the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project, aligning with Cabinet decisions made on June 2nd and July 14th, 2026.

The verification identified 9.51 million eligible individuals, categorized into three groups: existing State Welfare Card holders, individuals listed in the Department of Community Development's basic needs database, and those identified by the Ministry of Interior during registration. The Cabinet approved the exclusion of parental tax deductions and agricultural loans from the eligibility criteria. Enhanced data linkage with various agencies aims to ensure precise screening, focusing on low-income and vulnerable groups.

The spokesperson emphasized that the reduced number of eligible recipients compared to previous phases stems from improvements in the screening system and interconnected databases, not targeted cuts or budget limitations. This facilitates a more comprehensive verification of registrants' income and qualifications.

The meeting resolved to adjust the project timeline, deferring the eligibility review results announcement to September 21, 2026, allowing thorough verification by relevant agencies. This adjustment enables approved individuals to start utilizing benefits from October 1, 2026.

Nationwide eligibility assessment results will be declared on July 17, 2026, through multiple channels, including the State Welfare Card website, the Paotang application, and authorized registration units. Eligible individuals are split into two groups: existing cardholders, who can start benefits from August 1, 2026, and new eligible individuals, who must complete e-KYC verification before accessing benefits from October 1, 2026.

Those not passing initial eligibility verification can request reconsideration between July 17-31, 2026, via the project website, Paotang application, or registration units. They must correct their information by August 16, 2026, for subsequent verification. The eligibility review results will be announced on September 21, 2026, allowing successful applicants to start using their benefits from October 1, 2026.
