Anutin Discusses Political Alliances Amidst Election Speculations

Bangkok: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, recently addressed speculation regarding political alliances following the release of a photo featuring Siripong Angkasakulkiat, spokesman for the Prime Minister’s Office and deputy leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, alongside Varawut Silpa-archa and Nikorn Chamnong of the Chartthaipattana Party.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin commented on the image which has fueled speculation about a potential “reunion” of the old Chartthaipattana Party. He emphasized that Siripong’s appearance in the picture with Varawut and Nikorn reflects the camaraderie among members of the old Thai Nation Party. Anutin further stated that as the election draws near, all parties, including the Bhumjaithai Party, are open to welcoming talented individuals.

Anutin also spoke about his discussions with Sonthaya Khunpluem, president of the Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization, regarding a potential move to the Bhumjaithai Party. When questioned about the likelihood of future collaborations, Anutin highlighted the readiness and capabilities of his party, indicating that they are prepared for any political developments. He underscored the importance of open-mindedness and preparedness among all parties as elections approach.

Further inquiries about notable figures, such as Sonthaya Khunpluem and Piya Pitutecha, possibly joining the Bhumjaithai Party were met with a light-hearted response from Anutin. He acknowledged discussions with Sonthaya and humorously deflected questions regarding Piya, also known as Mayor Chang, suggesting that such decisions are still under consideration.
