Yasothon: A robber armed with a gun attempted to rob a gold shop in Yasothon Province, but fled the scene empty-handed after the shop owner scolded and chased him away.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident was recorded by a surveillance camera inside the shop located in Yasothon Municipality. The footage shows the incident occurring at 2:42 p.m. on April 21, 2015. The perpetrator, described as a tall, thin man, arrived on a red and black motorcycle without a license plate. He entered the shop wearing a long-sleeved shirt, a mask, and gloves, and initially asked for 5 baht while brandishing a gun.
Sukanya, the shop owner, reported that the robber demanded money while threatening her with the gun. In response, she boldly instructed him to put the gun down and leave the shop immediately. Her confrontation, combined with the sudden arrival of her niece, startled the robber, prompting him to flee the shop and escape on his motorcycle.
Following the incident, local police used CCTV footage to trace the robber’s escape route. They discovered that he had traveled from Phanom Phrai District in Roi Et Province to Yasothon Province to commit the attempted robbery. Authorities anticipate that the perpetrator will be apprehended soon.
