Bangkok: Army Area 1 is prepared to assist the public in paying their respects to the royal remains of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. The Bureau of the Royal Household has opened the Royal Remains of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, for public homage at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall following a 15-day merit-making ceremony. Visits are allowed daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., beginning Sunday, November 9, 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant General Worayot Leungsuwan, Commander of the First Army Area, visited the site to oversee the operations of the Royal Volunteer Support Center Region 1. This center, along with various sectors, is tasked with ensuring public convenience. The initiative involves collaboration with the Royal Volunteer Support Center of the Royal Thai Army, the Royal Volunteer Support Center in Bangkok, centers in 25 provinces, volunteers from multiple ministries, and the general public. The public service point at Sanam Luang parking lot aims to provide smooth services for those visiting the Grand Palace. This morning, approximately 8,000 people have registered to pay their respects.
Since October 26, 2015, the Royal Security Command Region 1 has been actively working with different sectors to provide a range of services, including transport, rest stops, royal food service, and maintaining order en route to the Grand Palace. The cumulative number of visitors paying respects and expressing condolences has reached 32,420.
The Commander and the Director of the Royal Security Command Center Region 1 reviewed operational guidelines and issued recommendations to support the Bureau of the Royal Household’s mission. They emphasized utilizing all available resources, including personnel, vehicles, and equipment, to ensure the public can pay their respects smoothly. The Commander expressed gratitude for Her Majesty’s immeasurable benevolence toward the Thai people, ensuring her eternal remembrance.
