Udon Thani police raided and arrested a 4th year female student carrying 354 kg of ice. The student was in tears, claiming that her father left it with her. Udon Thani Provincial Police Investigation Unit raided and arrested Ms. Bai Tong, 21 years old, from Nong Saeng District, Udon Thani Province, after officers received information that there would be a drug delivery in the target area on October 21, 2024. They therefore led a force to lie in wait in front of a hotel in Udon Thani Municipality. Until 18.30, a white sedan was found parked in front of the hotel and a woman got out of the car. She was later identified as Ms. Bai Tong. She therefore identified herself and asked to search the passenger compartment and the storage area in the back of the car. They found 12 rainbow-colored sacks tightly packed in the car. Inside the sacks, they found 354 bags of dried tea leaves with Chinese logos, weighing 1 kg each. An inspection found that they were all ice. Ms. Bai Tong was therefore taken in for questioning along with the evidence. Initially, she confessed that her father, V, a Lao national approximately 50 years old, called to ask for the items, saying that someone would come to pick them up. She did not know that there were drugs inside, but only received them from her father. Pol. Maj. Gen. Kittisak Plathong, commander of the 2nd Border Patrol Police Region, revealed that there had been constant reports that a large batch of drugs would be parked in Udon Thani before being distributed to inner areas in the central region of Thailand. The seizure of this batch is considered a very large batch, with 354 kg of crystal meth worth 354 million baht. If it had gotten into the inner areas, the value could have been many times higher. From the investigation, Ms. Bai Tong tearfully said that her parents separated when she was young. She grew up with her grandparents in Nong Saeng District. Her mother has a new family abroad. Her father would contact her sometimes every 2-3 months. She never knew that her father worke d like this. She did not know what he sent. However, she admitted that she had helped her father drive and look at the route to deliver something. She had done it twice. This time, her father said that he would only leave something and that someone would put it in the car. That was all she knew. Then her father told her to go up and sleep in the room. When she came down from the room, she was arrested. 'Now I want my father to come out and take responsibility for what he did. Right now, I am very scared. I do not know who else I can turn to.' Initially, the officers will interrogate the suspects again in detail to investigate and find all the perpetrators in the said gang to take legal action. Source: Thai News Agency
