Arresting a gang of Abangs who tricked people into investing in cloth before running away

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) arrested a gang of ambush scammers who tricked people into investing in fabric before fleeing, resulting in over 280 million baht in damages. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) by the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) arrested Mr. Anusorn, 52, a suspect with an arrest warrant, accusing him of committing 'joint fraud'. He was arrested in Soi Wachiratham Sathit 57, Bang Chak Subdistrict, Phra Khanong District, Bangkok. Since around the end of 2016, Ms. Sri Prapai, the victim, filed a complaint to prosecute a group of criminals who deceived her into investing in a clothing business. The group of criminals, both Thai and foreign, invited the victim to be a financier in ordering fabrics to be used in sewing clothes, such as linen, silk, and chiffon. Later, after the victim agreed to the contract, the victim delivered the fabrics to the group of criminals, with Mr. Anusorn receiving the fabrics and giving the victim a total of 362 checks claiming to be for paying for the fabrics and compensation. However, it was later found that none of the checks could be collected from the bank, resulting in damages totaling over 280 million baht. Later, the investigators collected evidence and requested an arrest warrant from the court for the group of criminals, including this suspect, who colluded to deceive the victim according to the aforementioned arrest warrant. After the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) officers investigated, they found out that the group of foreign men who looked like Indians who colluded to deceive the victim had fled the country. However, Mr. Anusorn remained and fled to live in a house in an alley. Soi Wachiratham Sathit 57, Bang Chak Subdistrict, Phra Khanong District, Bangkok. Police officers therefore led a force to arrest and take him to the investigation officer, Division 1, Crime Suppression Division, to proceed with legal action.
