Ubon ratchathani: A spectacular display in the city of lotuses unfolded as "Petch, Aem, and Bam" joined the Ubon Ratchathani Candle Procession for the first time, continuing a tradition over 120 years old. The festival, held on July 30th to mark the beginning of Buddhist Lent, featured three artists from Grammy Gold - Petch Katawut, Aem Chonthicha, and Bam Pichyanin - who participated in the procession at Wat Mahawanaram Royal Temple alongside teachers and students from Pathumwittayakorn School.
According to Thai News Agency, the three artists donned outfits under the concept of "The Colors of Lotus Varieties," highlighting the significance of the lotus in Buddhism and as a symbol of Ubon Ratchathani province. The pinkish-purple hues of the water lily and the pure white of the lotus variety beautifully reflected local identity and cultural values.
The procession route was lively, with large crowds of locals and tourists cheering on the artists. This marked the first participation of Phet Katawut, Aem Chonthicha, and Bam Pichyanin in the Ubon Ratchathani Candle Parade, recognized as one of the grandest Buddhist Lent festivals in Thailand. Fans greeted the artists warmly, taking photos and offering encouragement, creating lasting impressions.
The event also emphasized the preservation of valuable traditions in the city of lotuses, showcasing the charm of Isaan art and culture and the enduring power of faith.
