Associate Professor Dr. Suwara Denies Allegations of Improper Conduct at MCU

Bangkok:An assistant lecturer at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) has refuted rumors concerning her position, affirming its legitimacy and denying any conflicts of interest.

According to Thai News Agency, Associate Professor Dr. Suwara Nakayot, Assistant Rector for Finance and Acting Deputy Director of the International Buddhist Studies College at MCU, along with her lawyer Mr. Ananchai Chaiyadech, filed a police report against a Facebook page. The page, titled "There's a Story to Tell Secrets Waiting to Be Revealed," allegedly published defamatory posts about her.

The posts claimed that Dr. Suwara's appointment to her executive position, including her title of "Associate Professor," was due to inappropriate connections with high-ranking officials and not based on merit. The page alleged that she engaged in misconduct, such as coercing personnel to resign and using her position for personal gain, in violation of university regulations.

Dr. Suwara clarified that her appointment followed proper university procedures as outlined in official University Orders. She denied any involvement in university bidding or procurement projects and emphasized that she has not engaged in any unethical practices.

In response to the damage to her reputation, Dr. Suwara has directed her lawyer to pursue legal action against those responsible for the posts, seeking to hold them accountable for defamation and related offenses. An investigation is ongoing to identify individuals who shared the false information on platforms such as the "Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University Alumni" Facebook group.
