Ayutthaya Locals Flock to Buy 19 Baht Durians Amid Market Frenzy

Ayutthaya: The market was in chaos as people lined up to buy durian for 19 baht each. Affordable and high-quality durians are available in Ayutthaya province, where local farmers are offering their own durians for just 19 baht each, causing a stir in the market. Long queues formed even before sales began.

According to Thai News Agency, in front of the Siriyalai Royal Residence on the road near Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital in Ayutthaya province, a massive sale of Monthong durian took place with an incredibly special price of only 19 baht per fruit. The market was practically bursting at the seams from early morning. Locals from Ayutthaya and neighboring provinces, carrying their children and grandchildren, lined up with 20-baht banknotes. Three hundred coupons were distributed daily with no additional conditions; purchases were made on the spot.

Jae Da, the orchard owner, revealed that to stimulate consumption and help clear the surplus agricultural produce during this season, they are offering a special promotion with durians at a low price of only 19 baht per fruit. Outside of the promotion, the price is only 59 and 69 baht. Although the 19 baht durians are slightly smaller, they are of good quality, with firm flesh, golden yellow color, fragrant, sweet, and delicious. Many customers agree that it was worth queuing up early in the morning. For those interested in buying quality durians at an affordable price, you can visit the orchard until Sunday, August 2nd.
