Bangkok Esports 2026 Draws Over 1,000 Competitors for National Gaming Showdown

Bangkok: Over 1,000 people participated in 'Bangkok Esports 2026', the 3rd annual gathering of esports enthusiasts competing in 4 popular games. The highly anticipated "Bangkok Esports 2026" tournament has officially begun, a collaborative effort by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Esports Association of Thailand, to create this spectacular event for esports enthusiasts across Thailand for the third consecutive year.

According to Thai News Agency, the official opening ceremony for the 2026 fiscal year's Sports Promotion for Excellence Project was held, presided over by Ms. Panida Kaewmak, Deputy Director of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Culture, Sports and Tourism Department. Also in attendance were Mr. Santi Lohthong, President of the Esports Association of Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration executives, private sector representatives, over 1,000 athletes, and other distinguished guests.

The Bangkok Esports 2026 competition was held from July 18-19, 2026, with 112 teams and over 1,000 athletes participating from across the country. The competition was divided into four games: Arena of Valor (ROV), Free Fire, FC Online, and Street Fighter 6.

The objectives of this competition are to promote the productive use of leisure time, develop technological skills, creativity, planning, analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, as well as provide opportunities for esports athletes to develop their potential for competition at national and international levels.

Bangkok believes that hosting Bangkok Esports 2026 will be another important step in promoting esports as a creative activity for youth, developing essential skills, and building collaborative networks between the government, private sector, and sports organizations to jointly drive the sustainable growth of Thailand's esports industry.
