Bangkok governor-elect, 3rd placed Wiroj join force Monday to tackle floods

Bangkok presumed governor-elect Chadchart Sittipunt and 3rd placed Move Forward candidate Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn joined force in trying to tackle the persisting flood problems in the capital today (Monday), after a chance meeting at Lat Phrao Temple.

Upon learning that Wiroj and Move Forward councillors-elect were nearby, Chadchart started looking for Wiroj and hugged him once they met. Both exchanged greetings and congratulations.

As they took a boat ride to tour the Lat Phrao Canal, Chadchart and Wiroj were joined by newly-elected councillors from the Pheu Thai and Move Forward parties, as part of the plans to find ways to solve the flood problems in the capital and in the Lat Phrao area specifically.

Chadchart told the media, however, that he had not thought about inviting Wiroj to join his team of administrators, but invited the latter to join the tour of the canal because the Move Forward candidate is familiar with the area.

The governor-elect said that he could not afford to take a rest after the election yesterday and had to start working immediately, starting with an inspection of the canal, adding that he is willing to and can work with city councillors of any party.

Wiroj, meanwhile, said that he is willing to work with Chadchart to help solve the flooding problem and to share information on the issue, because they share similar concerns for the wellbeing of the people, but he insisted that neither of them discussed working together.
