Bangkok: Bangkok Hospital is transforming the landscape of gastrointestinal and liver care with the introduction of its revamped "Center for Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases," which aims to become a Center of Excellence in the ASEAN region. The hospital has invested in advanced endoscopic technology within a 2,800 sq.m. facility, setting a new standard for patient care in Southeast Asia.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok Hospital Headquarters is taking a significant step forward in gastrointestinal and liver treatment through its renewed Gastroenterology and Hepatology Center. The center, operating under the concept "Beyond Future - Advanced GI Care and Endoscopy," aims to elevate patient care with innovative treatment technologies. These advancements are led by specialist physicians and a multidisciplinary team with substantial experience, reinforcing Bangkok Hospital's dedication to delivering exceptional care for gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
Dr. Methinee Maipang, Group 1 Executive Chair, emphasized the hospital's commitment to medical excellence and comprehensive development, highlighting future plans to upgrade its healthcare system by 2026. She noted that Bangkok Hospital will focus on quality treatment certified by ICHOM, value-driven care, and outcome-based management, alongside becoming a Medical Robot Hub in the Asia-Pacific region. The hospital also prioritizes digital healthcare access and social and environmental responsibility with an aim towards a Net Zero 2050 goal.
Dr. Boonthida Charoensawas, Director of Bangkok Hospital, highlighted the center's achievements, including over 759 successful endoscopic cases of biliary and bile duct examination and 600 endoscopic ultrasound cases. With a risk and complication rate of less than 1% for endoscopic procedures, the center is committed to transforming patient care with advanced techniques and continuous service development.
The renovated center features 15 examination rooms, advanced procedure rooms, and specialized testing facilities. A multidisciplinary team collaborates to create personalized treatment plans, aiming to become a regional leader in advanced endoscopic gastroenterology and hepatology.
Dr. Jaturong Amornratanakosol, Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Center, addressed the rising incidence of gastrointestinal and liver diseases due to lifestyle changes. He emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and good nutrition to support digestive health and boost immunity, ensuring a sustainable quality of life.
The center's launch event included guests like Chris Horwang and Chef In-Narongrit Saekho, who shared insights on maintaining a healthy gut and liver. Attendees sampled dishes designed for gut health, and the center introduced a menu of nutritious meals available for purchase from August 24-28, 2026, in collaboration with Imm by BDMS.
