Bangkok: One more person has been dismissed from government service for facilitating the fraudulent use of pink identification cards. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has taken decisive action by dismissing another official who was involved in facilitating the transfer of foreign children into Din Daeng flats using fraudulent pink visas.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Adisorn Ngamjitsukhsri, an advisor to the Bangkok Governor, has provided updates on the progress of the "Clean Up the City" operation. This initiative focuses on identifying and apprehending individuals engaged in the fraudulent issuance of non-Thai national identification cards, known as pink cards, to foreigners in the Din Daeng area. The Din Daeng District Director recently ordered the temporary suspension of another BMA employee from the Din Daeng District Office, effective August 19, 2026.
The suspended employee was found to have collaborated with a broker to facilitate the registration of foreign nationals at a residential address in Din Daeng, belonging to a relative. This act involved coordinating the necessary documents to enable this registration, which resulted in the fraudulent issuance of pink identification cards. The police have charged the employee with aiding and abetting a public official in misusing official duties, presenting false documents for residential registration, and jointly entering false information into a computer system.
Pol. Gen. Adisorn emphasized that the issuance of this order marks an expansion of the investigation aimed at prosecuting additional offenders. Previously, on August 18, 2026, three civil servants from the registration division were also suspended from duty. They are currently being prosecuted by the police on charges of malfeasance in office, certifying false documents, and jointly entering false information into a computer system.
