Bangkok: “Ekanat” and “Suphamas,” two political leaders from Bangkok, have declared themselves as leaders of a new right-wing conservative group. They acknowledged the challenges they face in Bangkok but expressed their determination to lead the Bhumjaithai Party to victory.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Ekanat Promphan and Ms. Suphamas Isarabhakdi, key election leaders for the Bhumjaithai Party in Bangkok, discussed the readiness of the party’s parliamentary candidates. They emphasized that all parties, including Bhumjaithai, are preparing for the elections, with Bangkok being a crucial area. Despite the party never having an MP in Bangkok, they are committed to the challenge ahead, relying on the support of the entire party, including their female leader Ms. Suphamas. Her experience as a former Bangkok MP during the Thai Rak Thai Party era is seen as a valuable asset to their campaign.
When questioned about the pressure of competing in a city where the Bhumjaithai Party has never held a seat, Mr. Ekanat stated that his life has been filled with challenges, and he is ready to face this one. He refrained from commenting on their level of readiness but expressed confidence in the positive signs shown by the candidates joining the party. The responsibility of selecting the best candidates falls on him and Ms. Suphamas, and they are prepared to fight together.
Addressing their strategy to win over traditional strongholds of the People’s Party in Bangkok, Mr. Ekanat admitted uncertainty about the future but emphasized the need to fight with full effort. He highlighted his commitment to the party’s slogan “Say it and do it,” with an added focus on doing more than promised.
On the strategy to leverage momentum in Bangkok, Mr. Ekanat pointed out the Bhumjaithai Party’s transformation from powerful political families to a collaboration of professionals. He cited examples of successful initiatives by party members, suggesting a shift towards a collaborative approach that includes professionals capable of achieving success.
Regarding policies to attract Bangkok residents, Mr. Ekanat stated that national-level policies are crucial. As Bangkok is the capital city, the clarity of the Bhumjaithai Party’s policies is a significant factor in his decision to join the party.
