Bangkok: Bangkok is preparing to launch a new "adult diaper" feature via Traffy Fondue this August. Today (July 22, 2026), Associate Professor Thawida Kamolwech, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, revealed that a new function will be launched on the Traffy Fondue application to receive requests for "adult diapers" for the elderly and dependent patients. The goal is to fully launch the system by August 1st to facilitate wider access to healthcare benefits for the public.
According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Governor Thawida further stated that some information has already been submitted to the system, but it will take approximately 1-2 weeks to revise and design the submission form. This is because the information requires medical verification and accurate location tracking of the user, emphasizing the importance of protecting and securing personal data. The system is expected to be fully operational by August 1st.
Deputy Governor Thawida added that after citizens submit information into the system, distribution of diapers may not begin immediately. This is because there are steps involved in conducting in-depth on-site verification, accurately identifying locations, and the large-scale procurement process. Currently, Bangkok has discussed this with the National Health Security Office (NHSO), which is ready to provide funding through the National Health Security Fund and will be responsible for the procurement and quality control.
"This project is one of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's (BMA) 100-day policy initiatives. The '100-day goal means that on the 100th day, we will be able to immediately begin distributing diapers to the public. Currently, the relevant agencies are expediting the details. We expect it will take approximately 1-2 months to prepare the system and budget, and we will strive to have it ready for distribution on October 1st, which coincides with the start of the new fiscal year, to ensure the budget allocation is systematic and as efficient as possible," Deputy Governor Thawida stated.
