Bangkok: A significant initiative by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has been launched to support families with bedridden patients or those with dependency issues by providing free adult diapers through the Traffy Fondue application. This welfare assistance, beneficial for patients struggling with bowel or bladder control, is set to begin on October 1st.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has fully opened its registration system to facilitate this initiative. The process requires applicants to submit their requests via Traffy Fondue, accompanied by the caregiver's details and a medical certificate validating the patient's health condition. The review process is prompt, with staff responding within three days, and includes home visits by public health personnel and social workers within 14 days to provide hygiene advice and schedule diaper deliveries.
The first distribution batch is scheduled for October 1, 2026, with ample stock available for initial allocations. The BMA has assured that they are prepared to make short-term purchases if registration numbers exceed current supplies, ensuring immediate support ahead of a full allocation system with the National Health Security Office commencing on January 1, 2027. Approved patients will receive three adult diapers daily at no cost.
The BMA encourages families to register their requests via Traffy Fondue to aid in monitoring quantities and planning distribution efficiently. For those unable to access the application, registration is also available at any BMA Public Health Center or the 50 district offices, easing the process for all eligible families.
