Bangkok: The Bhumjaithai Party has directed its Members of Parliament to retract their support from the Pheu Thai Party's proposed constitutional amendment, citing potential conflicts with the Constitutional Court's ruling.
According to Thai News Agency, Bhumjaithai Party spokesperson confirmed that the party's decision mandates its members to remove their endorsements from the Pheu Thai Party's amendment draft. This action stems from apprehensions about possible violations of the Constitutional Court's ruling.
Yesterday, during a meeting at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, who serves as the Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society and the party's spokesperson, stated that after a thorough discussion of the draft constitutional amendment, the party resolved that members who had endorsed the proposal by the coalition government party, Pheu Thai, should withdraw their signatures. The decision was made out of concern that the amendment might be at odds with the Constitutional Court's ruling.
