Bangkok: The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is advising attendees of the royal funeral rites to use BMTA buses for travel to the event. The funeral activities include the royal bathing ceremony and paying respects to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida.
According to Thai News Agency, the schedule for offering water to the royal portrait will occur at Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion in the Grand Palace on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Visitors can pay their respects at the same location starting Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall will open for respects on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
To assist with transportation, a free shuttle bus service will be available on six routes. These routes include M1 from Tha Phra Station to Sanam Luang, M2 from Sanam Chai Station to Sanam Luang Station, M7 from Victory Monument to Sanam Luang, M8 from Bangkok Central Station to Sanam Luang, M9 from Southern Bus Terminal to Sanam Luang, and M16 from Thewaphirom Gate to Sanam Luang.
Additionally, there are 18 BMTA-operated bus routes passing through Sanam Luang, running from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. These routes cover various areas including Route 3 from Bangkok Passenger Terminal to Krung Thonburi BTS Station, Route 15 from Talat Phlu BTS Station to Siam, and Route 25E from Phraeksa to Tha Chang.
The BMTA encourages the public to utilize these buses to ensure smooth and efficient transportation during the funeral rites.
