Phang Nga: A boat caught fire in the middle of the sea at Khao Lak diving spot in Phang Nga Province. Tourists were safely brought to shore. It is believed that the fire started in the engine room before spreading to the passenger lounge.
According to Thai News Agency, a tourist boat went diving and caught fire in the middle of the sea near Cape Coral, Khao Lak. There were 27 passengers on board, comprising 18 tourists and 9 crew members. The Maritime National Interests Protection Center in Phang Nga Province coordinated with a tour boat to take the tourists to the Thap Lamu Pier. Fortunately, no one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Initial reports indicate that the fire started in the engine room before spreading to the passenger lounge.
