The transfer fee is £21.4 million (approximately pound 25 million), with a further £4.3 million (pound 5 million) in performance-related bonuses. According to Thai News Agency, the young defender recently captained Benfica to a 5-0 victory over St. Gallen in their latest Europa League qualifying match, serving as a fitting farewell to the fans. Bournemouth urgently needed a new defender following the departure of Marcos Senesi, and Silva fits the club's requirements perfectly. In terms of national team achievements, Silva was part of the Portuguese national team that competed in the 2022 World Cup and won the UEFA Nations League in 2025, but he was left out of the squad for the 2026 World Cup.
