Brewery at Ladprao Faces Legal Action for Operating as an Entertainment Venue

Bangkok: The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior has declared that a brewery located at Ladprao is operating illegally, functioning as an entertainment venue without appropriate registration. This establishment, which includes activities such as live music, alcohol sales, and dancing, falls under the category of an entertainment venue according to legal standards.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, detailed the findings of an investigation related to a fire incident at the brewery. He emphasized that the establishment was registered as a restaurant but was conducting activities typical of an entertainment venue. As these venues require specific registration and adherence to regulations, the brewery's operations were deemed illegal.

Mr. Arsit further highlighted the role of local authorities in enforcing the law, mentioning that the Bangkok Governor has confirmed the need for stricter inspections of similar establishments. The responsibility for oversight in Bangkok lies with the Metropolitan Police, while in other provinces, it falls under the jurisdiction of provincial governors.

Addressing concerns about legal loopholes that allow restaurants to operate outside the boundaries of the law, Mr. Arsit pointed out that business owners exploit these gaps to evade regulations. He urged the public to report any illegal activities to the Ministry of Interior, assuring that the government would take necessary action against those who violate the law.
