Huntingdon: British counter-terrorism police have joined the investigation into a stabbing attack on a train that left nine people critically injured. British traffic police, who are leading the investigation into the incident on the train, said in a statement this morning local time that two people had been arrested and 10 people had been taken to hospital with stab wounds, nine of them in a serious or life-threatening condition. Traffic police have declared the incident a serious incident, with counter-terrorism officers providing support. According to Thai News Agency, the incident happened on a Doncaster line train bound for London’s King’s Cross station as it headed south towards Huntingdon station, near Cambridge. Cambridgeshire Police were called to the scene at 7:39 p.m. local time on Saturday. The attacker was immediately apprehended at the station. Two other people were also arrested at the station, about 75 miles (120 kilometers) north of London.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has expressed his condolences to those injured in what he called a shocking incident and urged people to follow the advice of local authorities.
