Bangkok: Images have emerged showing the Burapha Task Force shelling a casino on the Cambodian side of the border. The military operation in the border area of Sa Kaeo province was confirmed as a retaliatory measure according to the rules of engagement, aimed at protecting national security and the safety of soldiers and civilians.
According to Thai News Agency, the 1st Army Area Operations Center, under the Eastern Command, revealed an operation using artillery and tanks to destroy a casino on the Cambodian side, located adjacent to the border. This casino was being used as a base for firing indirect weapons, machine gun emplacements, and stockpiles of weapons for attacks against Thai forces in the area opposite the Ban Ta Phraya border checkpoint in Ta Phraya District, Sa Kaeo Province. The center confirmed that the military operation in the Sa Kaeo border area was a retaliatory measure according to the rules of engagement to protect national security and the safety of soldiers and civilians.
In the Nong Chan area, troop and heavy weaponry movements were detected closer to the border. Additionally, in the Nong Ya Kaeo area, a new type of PMN-2 landmine was discovered, which Cambodia is preparing to use in the region. Furthermore, Cambodian soldiers were found to have planted various types of explosives, including two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in a ready-to-use condition, which have been successfully defused by authorities.
