Cabinet Appoints Pol. Col. Wathanyu as Deputy Director of Narcotics Control Board

Bangkok: The Cabinet appointed Pol. Col. Wathanyu as Deputy Director of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board. The decision was made during a recent Cabinet meeting, as announced by Ms. Ayrin Phanrit, the Deputy Government Spokesperson.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Wathanyu Wittayaphalotai previously served as a police officer providing security for former prime ministers affiliated with the Thai Raksa Chart Party, including Thaksin Shinawatra, Yingluck Shinawatra, Settha Thavisin, and Paethongtarn Shinawatra. His transition from the police force to a civil servant role at the Office of the Narcotics Control Board occurred during Paethongtarn’s tenure as prime minister.

The Cabinet has not only appointed him to the Office of the Narcotics Control Board but also as the Deputy Director of the Office of the National Reform Strategy and Reconciliation (ORS) under the Office of the Prime Minister.
