Cambodian Troops Launch Continuous Attacks on Thai Forces Along Border

Bangkok: Cambodian troops have launched continuous attacks against Thai forces along the border, leading to intense military engagement. Since early this morning, the Cambodian military has been using BM-21 multiple rocket launchers and deploying suicide drones to bombard Thai bases and strongholds, particularly targeting areas from Chong Bok to Prasat Ta Kwai and Prasat Khana. The attacks have been especially focused on Phum Makheua and Prasat Ta Muen Thom, where Cambodian forces are making efforts to retake these locations.

According to Thai News Agency, the BM-21 shells have also impacted civilian areas, prompting a response from Thai forces. The Thai military has retaliated with both direct and indirect fire, successfully maintaining control over key areas and effectively impacting the capabilities of the Cambodian forces. In light of the ongoing conflict, the ASEAN observer team visited patients at Sapphaprasitprasong Camp Hospital, gathering information from those injured in an ambush at the Phu Pha Lek base in Kantaralak District, Sisaket Province.

Currently, the situation has led to the opening of 492 temporary shelters across four southern border provinces, accommodating a total of 125,838 people. This includes 22,580 individuals in Ubon Ratchathani Province, 45,914 in Sisaket Province, 51,781 in Surin Province, and 5,563 in Buriram Province. Additionally, a total of 3,123 vulnerable individuals have been evacuated to 75 designated locations, with significant numbers in Surin Province.

Efforts are being made to support affected farmers, with the Army Veterinary Department providing 12,000 bales of hay, equivalent to 24,000 kg, for animal feed. The 2nd Army Area Command has urged the public to refrain from sharing images, video clips, and information regarding military operations to ensure the safety of frontline personnel and maintain operational effectiveness. The public is advised to follow official updates from government media and the 2nd Army Area Command’s Facebook page.
