According to Thai News Agency, the Central Investigation Bureau raided a company and warehouse in the On Nut area of Bangkok after discovering the illegal import of canned orange peel from abroad without paying taxes and without FDA approval. The peel was allegedly being used as an ingredient in the production of bottled ready-to-drink orange juice.

Authorities seized over 2,000 kilograms of contraband, valued at over 500,000 baht, and charged Ms. Lamphai (pseudonym), a company director, with aiding in concealing or receiving goods known to have been illegally imported, in violation of the Customs Act. The suspect initially confessed to all charges.
