Chen Yufei Triumphs Over “Pink” Pichamon in Malaysia Masters Quarterfinals

Kuala lumpur: "Pink" Pichamon Opasanipat's journey in the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2026 badminton tournament came to an end as she was defeated by Chen Yufei of China in the quarterfinals. The match, held at the Unifi Arena, was part of the prestigious World Tour Super 500 event, which boasts a total prize pool of US$500,000 (approximately 16,250,000 Thai Baht).

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai badminton player faced a tough challenge against the top-seeded Chen Yufei. In the first game, Chen showcased her impressive attacking skills, quickly establishing a 7-2 lead. Although "Pink" Pichamon made strategic adjustments and fought back to lead 19-17, a critical net error allowed Chen to clinch the first game 21-19.

The second game saw Chen Yufei dominate the court, taking full control as "Pink" Pichamon struggled to keep up with the Chinese player's level of play. Chen's commanding performance resulted in a decisive 21-9 victory, securing her place in the semifinals and eliminating Pichamon from the tournament with a 2-0 (19-21, 9-21) win.
